Last year I rode the series in club colours and managed 7th in the Grand Vets – sadly this year it’s even more competitive and so I could do with a bit of back up.
More seriously I wonder if the races would appeal to some of the youth age flyers – the races have a youth category and varying numbers regularly race with abilities from just starting to pretty dam quick!
The 7.15 start might restrict those races folk can travel to but the following are reasonable close
– Kilworth Springs 21st June – non technical good introduction and nice after race facilities
– Rockingham Raceway 5 July – more technical, especially in last year’s mid summer mud bath
– Bulwick (our local race) 9 August – hard work, a few technical bits
A good way of getting folk from the club involved might be the team relay on 26th of July. This is on a very straightforward course with only a short off camber section but mostly on playing fields. Teams of four can be mixed age and sex so youth riders could mix with parents or older club members. Any chance of putting a couple of teams in to compete against each other? Its a bit of slog to get to (1 hour 20 minutes I guess) but has been worth it the time I did it (despite the rain).
I make most of the races and could offer lifts from Cliffe area
